Halloween weekend Brisbane: what is on in the inner north
Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October, and the inner north has a few ways to spend it. This Halloween weekend Brisbane plan covers a free-entry morning market in New Farm, a horror challenge in Fortitude Valley and a late-night costume party.

Powerhouse Farmers Markets, New Farm
The Jan Powers Farmers Markets at Brisbane Powerhouse run every Saturday from 6am to 12 noon on Lamington Street, New Farm. The next market is Saturday 31 October. Stalls sell fresh fruit and vegetables, artisan cheeses, handmade pasta and bread, with coffee vans and food trucks for breakfast.
Prison Island Horror Story, Fortitude Valley
Prison Island at 162 Alfred Street has reworked its Challenge Room as a Halloween “Horror Story” on selected nights up to 31 October. Teams of two to five have 60 minutes to work through more than 35 cells of strength, strategy, speed and skill, while live performers play the ghosts of the prison’s past.
Sessions run from 7pm on the listed nights, including Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October. Prices and sessions were not available when this was written, so check the venue before you book.
Halloween Hall at The Warehouse
Halloween Hall takes over The Warehouse at 8 McLachlan Street, Fortitude Valley, on Saturday 31 October from 9pm to 3am. It is an 18+ event, presented as part of MELT Festival. The organiser has announced Melbourne drag performer Art Stimone and Sydney duo Atomic Kiss, with more artists to come. Tickets are through Eventbrite and are not refundable.
Whichever you pick, it is a busy Halloween weekend Brisbane, so book ahead for the ticketed events.
