Urban Wine Walk returns to Fortitude Valley for Weekend Two on 7 November

The Urban Wine Walk is back in Fortitude Valley for Weekend Two on Saturday 7 November, with eight local venues taking part from 12pm to 4pm. It’s a relaxed format: you set your own pace, wander between stops, taste wines and chat to the people who made them, all within a four-hour window.

Eight venues, eight winemaker pairings

Each stop pairs a Fortitude Valley venue with a winemaker, and most of the line-up is different from the first weekend’s. Here’s the full list for the day:

  1. BrewDog hosts New Tricks Wine (QLD),
  2. Ember & Ash is matched with The Little Wine Co. (NSW),
  3. My Beer Dealer pairs up with Unnatural Urges Wine (QLD),
  4. the Osbourne Hotel welcomes Front Left Wines (NSW),
  5. Soapbox Beer teams up with Konpira Maru (QLD/VIC),
  6. The Beaumont features Sevenhill Wines (SA),
  7. The Prince Consort presents Horner Wines (NSW) and
  8. The Wickham brings in Witby Wine (QLD).

Along the way, you can taste up to three wines from each producer. Organiser Neighbourhood Events Co expects more than 300 wine lovers on the trail.

What the Vino Lover Pass covers

Tickets, known as the Vino Lover Pass, cost A$79 plus a booking fee, and numbers are limited. As well as the tastings, the pass comes with three vouchers: a $10 food voucher to use at your nominated starting venue before 1pm, a $10 wine voucher towards an event-day wine order (three-pack minimum) and a $25 wine voucher towards an event-day order (six-pack minimum). Both wine vouchers can only be used with participating producers.

You’ll also get an official wristband, a keepsake tasting glass and an event map to help you find your way round.

How to register and what to bring

Before heading to your first stop, collect your wristband, tasting glass and vouchers from the Osbourne Hotel, 766 Ann Street, between 11am and 1pm on the day. The event is strictly 18 and over.

Bring your ticket, valid photo ID and a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Sort out how you’re getting home before you set off, and keep some water handy. Tickets are non-refundable, rain or shine. The only exception is if the event is cancelled or postponed, in which case you’ll get a full refund. If you can’t make it, you can resell your ticket through the Manage Order button in your confirmation email, either publicly or by sending a private resale link to friends.

Getting around the trail

The walk is self-guided, so there’s no set route. Once you’ve checked in at your nominated starting venue, you can work through the remaining stops in any order before 4pm. You can linger at your favourites or skip ahead as you please. The Osbourne Hotel on Ann Street is both the registration point and a tasting stop, with Front Left Wines pouring.

This spring’s Fortitude Valley walk runs over two consecutive Saturdays, and Weekend One took place on 31 October. If you missed it, Weekend Two is your chance to get on the trail.
