Maude Newstead is a planned 15-storey apartment tower at 16-22 Maud Street, from Brisbane builder-developer BPG Developments. The project has 103 two and three-bedroom residences and an estimated end value of $250 million, according to Brisbane Development.

What the Maud Street site was before
The 2,430 square metre site was assembled from three industrial titles, which housed a warehouse, an electrical wholesaler and an industrial shed. Brisbane Development puts it about 3 km from the CBD and within walking distance of the river. A double-height retail tenancy is planned for the corner, intended for a future cafe or hospitality use.
A brick-inspired design with a rooftop pool
Plus Studio designed the building, with a curved facade and a metal screen that echoes brickwork. The design draws on the neighbouring heritage-listed Goldsworthy and Perkins Boot Factory. The rooftop level includes a magnesium lap pool, sauna, steam room, gym, yoga deck and fire pit.
Who is behind Maude Newstead
BPG Developments is led by co-founders Nick Parr and Glen Williams, and Parr grew up in Teneriffe. The company says its pipeline is close to $500 million across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Construction start and completion dates were not given in the sources we checked.
