Rideshare driver charged with rape and stalking after five-year investigation
A 29-year-old Brisbane man has been charged with serious offences including rape, coercive control, and stalking following an extensive police investigation. The charges relate to alleged incidents involving three women across the city between 2020 and 2025. According to the ABC News, two of the alleged victims met the man while using a rideshare service.
The man, who resides in Ferny Hills, is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 17. Police allege he used a white Mercedes Benz A45 to transport passengers before allegedly targeting them for abuse. Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry confirmed that the three identified victims are all women in their 20s.
Allegations span five years and multiple suburbs
Police allege the first incident occurred in November 2020, when the man assaulted a 20-year-old woman two months into their relationship. It is alleged he went through her phone and phoned her multiple times daily. If she did not answer, he reportedly turned up at her house. The woman ended the relationship in early 2021 and reported the matter to police in May of that year.
A second alleged incident took place on November 1, 2024. A 21-year-old woman reportedly used a rideshare service to return home from Fortitude Valley in a white Mercedes Benz A45. Over the next seven days, the man allegedly sent her multiple messages and threatened to attend her workplace. The woman never met him again after the ride, blocked him on social media and phone, and reported the matter to police.
The most recent allegations involve a 27-year-old woman. Police allege the man connected with her on social media after driving her home in the same vehicle on a night in June 2025. During their alleged relationship, he reportedly accessed her phone repeatedly and threatened to assault her. The woman attempted to end the relationship on numerous occasions without success.
On the night of July 20, the man allegedly attended the woman’s house unannounced and sexually assaulted her. After she ended the relationship and told him not to contact her, he allegedly returned to her house on August 17 and threatened her. He reportedly left when other people arrived.
Police seek other potential victims
Queensland Police executed a search warrant at a Ferny Hills address on November 17, 2025. Officers seized mobile phones and a laptop allegedly belonging to the 29-year-old man. The investigation concluded that the same individual was involved in all three separate incidents.
Senior Sergeant Lowry stated that the man no longer drives for the rideshare service where the initial contact occurred. However, police allege the 29-year-old may still be working in the industry, potentially operating on the Gold Coast. “We do believe from the information we have got that there are probably other women out there that have experienced this behaviour by this driver,” Lowry said.
Police have described the suspect as being 5’6″ with a muscular build. He is described as having a tanned complexion, facial hair, and tattoos on both arms and one leg. Senior Sergeant Lowry urged anyone who had a similar interaction with this driver to contact police immediately.
The man faces one count each of rape, coercive control, and threatening violence, alongside three counts of stalking. His court appearance on April 17 will mark the next step in the legal process following these charges.
